Abstract: Australian Catholic University Library, today announced that following a formal tender process, it has selected Ingram Coutts as its preferred supplier for print and digital monographs and ancillary services.

April 10, 2013 -- North Sydney, Australia. Australian Catholic University Library, today announced that following a formal tender process, it has selected Ingram Coutts as its preferred supplier for print and digital monographs and ancillary services.

Fides Datu Lawton, University Librarian said, "I look forward to realising the Library's strategic objectives with our alliance with Ingram Coutts and look forward to working with their staff on this project. I also wish to acknowledge the valuable assistance of Stephen Pugh of Oranjarra Partners. Stephen's high level of expertise in this field was a key factor in the successful completion of the tender process."

The ACU Library tender panel found that Ingram Coutts best fit its workflow, approval, demand-driven and system needs, and provided the greatest cost-savings to the library. The tender process was designed and coordinated by Oranjarra Partners based on recommendations regarding the ACU Library's goals and objectives made in its Collection Development & Resource Services Project report of 2012.

"The traditional content supply chain is changing at a rapid pace, and libraries are reshaping how they are acquiring and making materials available to their users," said Dan Sheehan, Vice President and General Manager, Ingram Content Group library services. "Libraries that work with Ingram have access to the broadest and most comprehensive selection of content with immediate access to more than 11 million print, digital and audio titles. We are pleased to support ACU and the patrons they serve."

A Service Level Agreement governing the new alliance will run through December 2015, with a library-determined option to extend the agreement for a further two years.

Stephen Pugh, Principal of Oranjarra Partners, said, "Every academic library should periodically test the market with clearly articulated needs and expectations as supplier capabilities evolve. The ACU Library did a fantastic job in doing just that. Each of the suppliers participating in the tender were impressive, but Ingram's services and development most closely matched where the ACU Library is now and where it wants to be in the future."
