Abstract: Haverford College and the Kuali Foundation announce Haverford’s successful completion of its eKuality Project and go-live of the Kuali Financial System.

Haverford, PA. Haverford College and the Kuali Foundation are pleased to announce Haverford's successful completion of its eKuality Project and go-live of the Kuali Financial System (KFS).

KFS is an open source enterprise system developed by the Kuali Foundation, which is rapidly expanding to Higher Education Institutions around the world. Haverford is the first small liberal arts college to implement KFS and host it themselves on campus.

eKuality was a joint effort between business and technology stakeholders at the College to define their financial system requirements, design the new system to meet those requirements and configure KFS to match the college's desired design. Haverford was supported throughout the project by Navigator Management Partners, a Kuali Commercial Affiliate. The project kicked-off in October 2011 and went live nine months later on-time and on-budget in July 2012.

According to Spencer Golden, Haverford's Director of Enterprise Systems, "Haverford is very pleased with our ability to successfully design and implement KFS in such a short period of time and to deliver the robust financial and purchasing support that the College needed. The assistance we received from Navigator Management Partners, as well as the Kuali community was invaluable in making this possible."

eKuality is expected to meet the operational, accounting and reporting needs of the College's financial activity. The initial implementation included the General Ledger, Contracts and Grants, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable modules, with the KFS Budget Construction module scheduled for implementation later this year.

The Kuali Foundation says it looks forward to providing continued support as Haverford transitions to its new system. Jennifer Foutty, Executive Director of the Kuali Foundation stated: "The Kuali Foundation is pleased to recognize Haverford College in its successful implementation of the KFS. Kuali systems are designed for all Carnegie classes of institutions of higher education, and Haverford has demonstrated the ability for small liberal arts colleges to implement and host KFS successfully. We congratulate Haverford College, Navigator Management Partners, and the Kuali community for this successful project!"

About Haverford College

Haverford College is a leading liberal arts college founded on the Quaker values of individual dignity, academic strength, and tolerance. It combines a rigorous academic program with an informal atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration among students, faculty and staff. Students approach work and study — as well as debate and conflict — with an awareness of the greater good. Haverford's Honor Code is one of the oldest in the country, and one of the only with a social dimension. It is one of only a few colleges or universities that expect and encourage all students to complete and defend a senior thesis, and its "need blind" financial aid policy means that it admits students -- and meets all demonstrated need -- regardless of a student's ability to pay.

Mellon Foundation to develop an open source financial system and since expanded to encompass eight projects.
