Wicklow, Ireland 11 June 2012: Interleaf Technology, Ireland's leading provider of library services technologies today announced that growth continues for library ebooks and audio books solution, OverDrive. It is now used by one third of Irish public libraries.

Ten County Libraries offer ebooks and audio books. These are Cork City, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, Fingal, Kildare, Leitrim, Longford, Meath, Offaly, South Dublin and Waterford City.

OverDrive is a leading full-service digital distributor of downloadable ebooks, audiobooks and other digital content. Interleaf Technology is its sole Irish distributor. Content is available for all major desktop and mobile devices including iPad, Android, BlackBerry and Windows.

OverDrive currently hosts more than 800,000 premium digital titles from more than 1,000 publishers, including Random House, HarperCollins, BBC Audiobooks America and Harlequin. OverDrive has the world's third largest selection of commercially available titles after Amazon and Google. The digital distribution services are used by more than 15,000 libraries, schools and colleges worldwide.

"Morgan Stanley expects the global tablet PC market to reach 133 million in 2012 and 216 million in 2013," said Charles Quain, Director, Interleaf Technology. "With the accelerated tablet growth, ebook library usage has also grown. This is particularly noticeable over the summer months, as people download books to bring on holidays. It certainly helps with low cost airlines' luggage weight allowance!"

The National Council for the Blind of Ireland also use the OverDrive system, confirming its value for users with particular accessibility requirements.
