February 20, 2003. Due to EBSCO's highly advanced linking technology, known as EBSCO SmartLinks, EBSCOhost database subscribers have available more than 100 million records with access to full text.
EBSCO SmartLinks allows users to gain seamless access from a citation in an EBSCOhost proprietary or secondary database result list to the corresponding full text located in a variety of electronic resources. In addition to linking to the full text available within EBSCOhost databases, users may also link to their library's collection of electronic journals available through EBSCOhost Electronic Journals Service and publishers contributing to CrossRef.
EBSCO SmartLinks, using a knowledgebase of more than 16 million article links from more than 12,000 journals, dynamically inserts the appropriate links to full text into the citation record in EBSCOhost search results. SmartLinks employs various authentication techniques to verify the links and ensure that they appear only for full text databases and e-journals to which the library subscribes.
The unequaled full text linking combined with the content available in the many STM databases on EBSCOhost, creates a powerful tool for researchers. Some of the databases available include: AGRICOLA, Applied Science & Technology Abstracts, Biological Abstracts, CAB ABSTRACTS, CINAHL, INSPEC, MEDLINE, and SPIN, among several others.
