Abstract: The Australian company behind LIBERO has bolstered its international distribution and support network in preparation for the release of LIBERO Version 6 EU in the first quarter of 2012.

  • LIBERO V6 EU launch: Q1 2012
  • Refined for EU market
  • Enhanced distribution and support network

The Australian company behind LIBERO has bolstered its international distribution and support network in preparation for the release of LIBERO Version 6 EU in the first quarter of 2012.

Founder and CEO of LIBERO and Insight Informatics, Sam Patane this week finalised a new structure that will enhance sales and support services for over 350 European libraries and organisations already using the solution and support the launch of LIBERO V6 EU.

LIBERO V6 EU is a localised version of the latest, web-based library management solution from Insight Informatics, complete with translations to French, Spanish and German, and additional cataloguing and management standards used across Europe.

Since 2009, Version 6 has been implemented at more than 100 sites across Australia and attracted organisations such as Moreland City Libraries in Victoria and City of Canterbury Library in Sydney.

"We have already established a significant Version 6 client base in Australia, so I'm very excited about the launch of LIBERO V6 EU and being able to offer European libraries a solution that is one of the most innovative, yet refined web-based solutions available today," said Patane.

LIBERO is also currently used by more than 350 libraries across Germany, Italy, Africa and Switzerland, including the Museum of Modern Art in Zurich, Germany's Aachen City Library and a consortium of over 60 libraries across Padua, Italy.

"This new arrangement means our European-based customers will immediately have greater access to support resources – including an international online customer portal, providing access to the experience and advice of peers, fellow LIBERO V6 users and product experts 24-7," he said.

Sales and local customer support services for LIBERO V6 EU will be primarily available to libraries and organisations across Europe via three key partners with offices in Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain – each experienced specialists in the library and information management industries.

The new structure also facilitates greater interactivity and between the European client base and LIBERO development teams in Australia.

"European clients will enjoy the benefits of local support and market knowledge from our partners, and gain access to systems that facilitate greater interaction between LIBERO's Development Team and the international customer base," he said.

"This includes means to directly log customer development requests with teams at Insight's Australian head office, so that we maximise our capability to support the needs of European libraries."

Partner offices in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and provide sales, implementation, training and support of LIBERO V6 EU.

LIBERO Version 6 is a fully-integrated web-based solution that has been re-built with new technology to deliver rich Web 2.0 technologies, fully-integrated federated search and electronic resource management features that satisfy the highest standard of library management.
