Server crash leaves library using old-fashioned check-out system

Abstract: Because of a computer problem, all nine branches of the Craven-Pamlico-Carteret Regional Library will revert to manual operation today for checking books and materials in and out. The system's main computer server crashed on Saturday. The estimated cost to replace the system is $65,000 to $70,000, but she said the company is working with the library to attempt a temporary fix.
