April 15, 2011-- Edmonton, AB. Libramation is pleased to announce the installation of a Media Bank for the Lake Forest Library, located in Lake Forest, Illinois. Libramation's Media Bank Classic, labelled as DVD2GO by the library, was installed at the Milwaukee West train station.
This secure Media Bank solution opened for public use on April 11, 2011, and provides patrons with remote access to the library's most popular CDs and DVDs. "When we talk about the service to our patrons, we say: Think RedBox, but it's blue and free with your Lake Forest Library card." Says Administrative Librarian, Kaye Grabbe.
As to why the Lake Forest Library chose to purchase the Media Bank, Grabbe states : "At the time it was the only unit that allowed patrons to place holds, check out and return to the same unit. We have a remote location in the community, and with no holds on our AV collections, and a 3 day loan period for DVDs, patron were not well served." With the addition of the Media Bank, those patrons can now enjoy increased access to the library collection. "We are pleased with the unit."
