(Carlsbad, CA November 15, 2010) EOS International, a leading provider of library automation solutions, has announced enhancements to its EOS.Web Reference Tracking module. Many of the new features are based on client requests and have been implemented to improve efficiency and work flow.

The EOS.Web Reference Tracking module tracks and coordinates research requests ranging from short, factual requests to in-depth and time-consuming reference questions, promoting a higher level of research service continuity. This flexible module also enables the information professional to create an online "Hot Topics" or "Frequently Asked Questions" database which can be organized by subject area or practice group, thus enabling libraries to create knowledge bases of reusable answers and eliminating the duplication of research request work.

Some improvements to EOS.Web Reference Tracking include:

  • Pre-populated date/time fields
  • Automatic assignment of the record to the researcher (based on user login)
  • Spell check functionality at all applicable fields
  • Copy capabilities to quickly copy a question into the separate fields that allow the request to be re-worded as needed for specific end users such as the billable description for accounting or the patron FAQ display in Web OPAC.
