ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and official Koha support company is proud to welcome D Ruth Bavousett as their Lead Migration Specialist. Ruth will be overseeing the migration department for ByWater Solutions and will be in charge of the implementation practices and customer contact during their migration process. Ruth is an active participant within the Koha community and has had extensive experience with the system administration, implementation, and development of the Koha ILS.

Ruth has served the IT needs of libraries for most of her 18-year career. She started work at the Abilene Library Consortium in 1992, as a Systems Operator, writing reports and training users on the DRA Classic library automation system. After a brief stint in clinical laboratories and aerospace IT project management, she returned to libraries and the Abilene Library Consortium in 2002, to lead the migration from DRA Classic to Sirsi Unicorn, staying aboard as the System Administrator and eventually serving as the Consortium's Coordinator. She then left Abilene to work as an Implementation Specialist for LibLime, Software Engineer for PTFS (now PTFS/LibLime), and now as Lead Migration Specialist for ByWater Solutions.

Ruth commented on her recent decision to join the ByWater Solutions team: "I'm thrilled to be involved with the fantastic team of diverse talents at ByWater Solutions. ByWater has given me the opportunity to do a job that I feel is crucial to libraries' futures, and their organizational values are a perfect match for my own." She continues, "I look forward to helping the ByWater team continue the explosive growth of the last year, and working with libraries to save money and have an open-source ILS that meets their needs. I enjoy giving every customer the personal attention they need, while refining their processes and data during migration."

Brendan Gallagher, CEO of ByWater stated, "Having Ruth on board adds an extremely important element to our company. Her dedication and experience will be crucial in helping to keep ByWater one step ahead of our growth and our competition. I can speak for the rest of our team when I say that we cannot be more excited to have her as part of ByWater Solutions."
