Abstract: Pasco County Library System implemented Tech Logicís self check-out systems in its Hudson Regional Library, Regency Park Library, and Land O'Lakes Library branches.

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (Nov. 19, 2010) Ė Pasco County Library System implemented Tech Logic's self check-out systems in its Hudson Regional Library, Regency Park Library, and Land O'Lakes Library branches. These self check-out systems became available for use on November 17, 2010.

Pasco County Library System has a circulation of about 2,403,466 items; collection size of 583,175 items and 243,224 titles; and approximately 266,164 cardholders in its 8 branches. The library system services the component areas of Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, and Pinellas along the coastal side of the Gulf of Mexico in west central Florida.

As Pasco County Library System works to continuously improve their service to their patrons and use their resources wisely, they have now installed Tech Logic self check-out stations. Patrons can bypass the circulation desk and check out items on the touchscreen-enhanced, easy-to-use stations. These self-check-out stations integrate with the library's CARL.X ILS system, which is provided by Tech Logic's partner company, The Library Corporation (TLC).

Linda Allen, Director of the Pasco County Library System, said, "We are excited about patron self-check. During these tough economic times, this is a way to supplement scarce staff resources. Now we can offer our patrons the personal touch or do-it-yourself Ė whichever they want!"

The self check-out stations include Tech Logic's CircIT software, which provides patrons with greater capabilities when checking out items, enabling library staff to handle increased demand without any diminution of service. Patrons are also able to check the details of any items they have on loan or on hold.

Heidi Weippert, Tech Logic's Customer Care Manager, said, "Tech Logic is excited to partner with the Pasco County Library System. We believe that the adoption of our CircIT self-check platform will be an enhancement to the overall experience at the library. Our products are designed to allow our customers to expand services to their patrons while offering time and money savings for library."
