September 23, 2010 -- Emeryville, CA. The Company announced today that Hilary Newman has been promoted to the leadership role of Vice President of Library Services. In her new position, Newman will assume overall responsibility of the Library Services division. This group includes staff based in North America, Asia, and Europe in Customer Services, Encore Services, Implementation Services, Technology Support, and Union Database Services.
Her promotion exemplifies the importance Innovative places on maintaining a stable core of experienced managers. For over 15 years, Newman has served Innovative in a broad range of responsibilities, including Trainer, Help Desk Manager, Product Manager, Manager of the Product Development Circulation Team, and, most recently, Vice President of Implementation Services. "Hilary's varied experience within the company puts her in a special position to meet the diverse needs of our customers," says Neil Block, Innovative President.
Newman began working in libraries as a middle-school student and, in the years that followed, worked in academic and law libraries. She holds an MLS from the University of North Texas, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Utah.
