Abstract: LibLime announced that the Pauline Whitaker Library at North West Arkansas Community College, located in Bentonville, AR, has successfully migrated to Koha.

Bethesda, MD -- August 25, 2010. LibLime, is happy to announce that the Pauline Whitaker Library at North West Arkansas Community College (NWACC), located in Bentonville, AR, has successfully migrated to Koha. Koha is the world’s most widely used open source integrated library system (ILS).

The North West Arkansas Community College Library has selected the LibLime fully-managed Koha implementation package. In this model, the system is implemented and maintained at one of the LibLime carrier-class data centers.

Following Koha installation, the LibLime implementation team worked closely with NWACC library staff to complete the system and module configuration; the data migration of bibliographic records, patron records, and current circulation transactions; and the staff and system administration training. Now that NWACC is live on Koha, LibLime provides annual maintenance and hosting support.

Koha includes many customer-commissioned development features, including several highly-anticipated academic library requirements, such as course reserves, expanded acquisition tools, and enhanced searching for music collections. The Software as a Service (SaaS) offering on the LibLime cloud computing platform will also feature regular releases throughout the year as additional customer-sponsored development is completed.

"We’ve been looking for a new ILS for a long time. The journey from our old system to open-source software has been an interesting one that has given us many opportunities for rethinking old ways of doing things and allowed the library to implement new features to better serve our students, faculty and staff. LibLime hosting will ease the burden on our already over-burdened tech support staff," expressed Louise Lamb, of the Pauline Whitaker Library.

The library previously used Athena to support and manage their nearly 60,000 bibliographic records.
