HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – August 12, 2010 – Bibliotheca Inc., open RFID solutions partner of choice to over 1,000 library locations worldwide, announced that the Martin County (Fla.) Library System (MCLS) has invested in a range of the company's RFID solutions for libraries. MCLS has purchased and will install the Bibliotheca products by the end of the third quarter 2010 at its Peter and Julie Cummings Branch.
The library system's initial installation of Bibliotheca RFID products includes a 7-bin BiblioSort automated materials handling system with an interior BiblioReturn Capella book return for patrons as well as a staff induction station, dual-aisle BiblioGate V security gates, staff stations, book and media labels and a handheld BiblioWand WiFi Inventory device.
According to Sylvie Szafranski, MCLS integrated systems manager, "Budget trends have had a large impact on our library system's staffing. Reduced staffing prompted us to look closer at any part of our staff's workload that could be automated. We decided that automated materials handling really has the potential to increase our speed, accuracy and efficiency."
"And when it came to selecting an RFID solutions provider," continued Szafranksi, "we were No. 1 looking for a company with RFID expertise for libraries and a proven dedication to customer service demonstrated by a willingness to help us solve our specific local challenges. And, of course, affordability was also a key consideration in our decision."
