InfoVision Technology is proud to announce support for Microsoft SQLServer 7 RDBMS for both its Amlib Library Management System and AUSinfo Records Management System, providing its customers with a choice between SQLServer 7, Oracle 8 or Centura SQLBase 7.5
With many InfoVision customers having already implemented SQLServer for their other business applications (such as Financial Management System) the availability of using the same RDBMS platform for both Amlib and AUSinfo enables a common computing strategy and reduced database administration to be implemented across all applications. Importantly, SQLServer has many performance advantages over Centura SQLBase including utilising the full capacity of multi-processor Windows NT servers.
Amlib has already been installed libraries with SQLServer 7, and InfoVision is currently completing a project where it has loaded up to 1 million bibliographic records into Amlib based on a SQLServer backend to verify performance for large libraries.
InfoVision is currently finalising operational tests with AUSinfo using SQLServer and an updated version fully supporting SQLServer will be available during October 2000.
For existing customers who wish to migrate their existing Amlib/AUSinfo databases from SQLBase or Oracle to SQLServer please contact InfoVision for further information and pricing.
