July 8, 2010 -- Emeryville, CA. ShareLaw has doubled in size since opening its membership to any interested law library last summer. "Our librarians find ShareLaw very useful for collection development. It is a fast and efficient way to see if our peer libraries have acquired a title. The more libraries that participate, the greater this resource becomes for everyone," says Scott Pagel, Director of the Law Library and Professor of Law at The George Washington University Law School (DC), one of the early ShareLaw libraries.

Launched in 2006, ShareLaw is a union catalog of holdings for participating libraries, working to create a national legal bibliography. The catalog is updated and maintained in real-time with both current holdings and circulation status of each participating library's equally prestigious collection. The database serves as an excellent resource for quickly locating and determining availability of material and for exposing vast collections of unique materials that each library owns. ShareLaw is a first-rate collection development tool that offers affordable and convenient collaboration.

"We are constantly amazed at the power of INN-Reach to highlight the collections of participating libraries," says Tom Jacobson, Director of Sales, Strategic Accounts at Innovative Interfaces, "and how this increases with each new library that joins. In this case, over 60% of the combined holdings are unique to a given ShareLaw member."

ShareLaw member libraries include: Berkeley Law, The George Washington University Law School, Marquette University Law School, Stetson Law, UC Davis School of Law, University of Miami School of Law, University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law, University of Notre Dame Law School, University of Texas School of Law, University of Washington School of Law, Washington College of Law at American University, and Yale Law School.

ShareLaw is powered by Innovative's INN-Reach system, now used by hundreds of libraries worldwide to support real-time collaboration. Participation is open to any academic law library.
