Norcross, Ga. – April 23, 2010. Library materials flow management and self-service technology specialist ITG (Integrated Technology Group) has been named an Atlanta Business Chronicle Pacesetter for 2010. Pacesetter designation is awarded each year to the 50 fastest growing metro-Atlanta companies based on the increase in revenues and employees over a two-year period. ITG was an early identifier of the power of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for libraries. As library budgets continue to shrink, they are enthusiastic adopters of RFID and other self-checkout, automated check-in, and sorting systems.
"The Pacesetter designation is particularly nice in this economic environment and it’s great that the metro Atlanta business community gets to learn what the North American library community already knows about ITG," says Shai Robkin, president and CEO of ITG. "The library technology industry is growing, and we’ve got the right solutions and the right people in place to capitalize on it. We’re heavily invested in research and development, we’re nimble, and we have demonstrated repeatedly that we really do play well with others" he says when discussing the company’s commitment to interoperability.
To be eligible for the Pacesetter award, a company must be privately owned, have been established before the first quarter of 2007, be based in the 20-county metropolitan Atlanta area, and have experienced a two-year growth in sales of more than 50 percent. For the years 2007 to 2009, ITG reported revenue growth of 189% and grew its employee roster by 55%.
According to Robkin, the most important contributing factor to this expansion is that ITG takes excellent care of its existing customers. "This is a tight-knit industry where referrals and happy customers can make or break you," he explains. "The most important sales tool we have is our high rate of customer satisfaction, and they’ve been very generous about helping us tell the ITG story."
