February 10, 2010 -- Emeryville, CA. The Stark County District Library (OH), winner of a 2009 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, has enabled the new AirPAC for Smartphones, allowing patrons to access their catalog from anywhere.

"We selected this product to extend the library's service to our customers on the go," says Suzette Burlingame, Associate Director for Library Technologies. "Providing a mobile version is a logical step in the evolution of our library catalog. I also like how the product is versatile and works with various mobile devices our patrons may use. Patrons are enjoying the product's clean and user-friendly interface that offers essential functionality, such as the ability to renew library materials or place holds from anywhere."

Specifically designed for mobile library-users, AirPAC brings the library catalog wherever they are. AirPAC leverages the large, bright screens and updated browser support of smartphones—while bringing patrons modern features like RightResult relevance-ranking technology, cover images (from third-party content providers), and direct connections to online resources and electronic journals. When users want to find their library, AirPAC helps by linking to Google Maps. With AirPAC, accessing self-service features on-the-go is fast and easy—a convenient time saver for both patrons and library staff.
