Farmington Hills, Mich., Dec. 21, 2009 – Gale, part of Cengage Learning, today announced that Stephen Abram is joining the company as vice president of strategic partnerships and markets. Abram begins his role in January 2010 and will report directly to Patrick C. Sommers, president, Gale.
In this newly created role, Abram is responsible for leading efforts to strengthen Gale’s position as an experience-based products/solutions partner. He will focus on increasing outreach, advocacy work, and our customers’ awareness of Gale as a library partner. He will also be responsible for researching new, experience-based products, creating critical mass in the marketplace, and developing the sustainability of Gale’s current products.
Abram comes to Gale from SirsiDynix, where he was vice president of innovation and chief strategist of the SirsiDynix Institute. Abram’s experience in the publishing environment also includes positions at Micromedia ProQuest, Carswell/Thomson Professional Publishing and Thomson Electronic Publishing.
