Jerusalem, Israel – May 27, 2009. Ex Libris Group is pleased to announce that NBD Biblion has selected the Company’s Primo discovery and delivery solution, and the Aleph integrated library system. Reaching five million citizens of the Netherlands, NBD Biblion offers products and services to hundreds of public libraries in the Netherlands, including central IT services, a national distribution service, and a central online catalog of over 600,000 titles.

Following a rigorous selection process, Fons Bouthoorn, media manager at NBD Biblion, commented that Primo and Aleph were chosen to improve the experience of the millions of users of the organization’s libraries, via improved search performance and Web 2.0 functionality, supported by a robust cataloging service. "The total package-–software and services-–that Ex Libris offers is very attractive," he noted. Wilco de Gier, manager of ICT product development at NBD Biblion, added that "the open architecture of Primo perfectly complements the functionality of our existing systems. Aleph’s Oracle based application fits well with all of our Oracle-based business applications."

For Henk Das, CEO of NBD Biblion, the global expertise and track record of Ex Libris were compelling factors in the organization’s choice of Aleph and Primo. "Ex Libris is a world-renowned supplier of library systems to famous libraries all over the world and has an excellent international reputation," he remarked.

Marc Daubach, corporate VP and general manager, Ex Libris Europe, commented, "We are delighted to welcome NBD Biblion to the growing Primo and Aleph customer communities in Europe. We are looking forward to collaborating with NBD Biblion in its ongoing work of making library resources readily and easily accessible to millions of Dutch citizens."
