HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – May 26, 2009 – Bibliotheca Inc., open RFID solutions partner of choice to 400+ libraries worldwide, announced today that the Poplar Bluff (Mo.) Public Library has selected the company’s RFID solutions for a newly renovated addition to the library’s facilities. Poplar Bluff Public Library has purchased Bibliotheca’s customized, ISO-compliant BiblioChip RFID book tags to interoperate with the library’s existing patron self-check and library staff stations, as well as transparent, 3D-detection BiblioGate security gates with built-in GateTracker patron-counting software .
"We had already made a significant investment in RFID self-check and staff solutions from another vendor," said Shannon Mangrum, Technology Coordinator of Poplar Bluff Public Library. "So when it came time to round out that investment with book tags and security gates, we looked at our options and selected Bibliotheca."
"It is always a pleasure dealing with Bibliotheca due to the breadth of library-specific RFID knowledge the company and its staff have. And Bibliotheca’s pricing was also quite attractive to us," continued Mangrum.
"We are very excited that Poplar Bluff will be the first U.S. customer to purchase our latest security gates, which have raised the bar in both form and function by offering reliable 3D detection and an innovative, transparent Bibliotheca design" said Lamar Jackson, Bibliotheca president and CEO.
"These qualities, along with the ability to interoperate with other vendors’ staff and patron RFID systems, make it easy for customers like Poplar Bluff to enhance and expand their RFID capabilities without diminishing the value of previous investments. That’s important these days when libraries are facing significant funding challenges."
