Implemented in Conjunction with Equinox Software Inc.
ITG partnered with Equinox Software, Inc. to create a comprehensive strategy to assist Indiana libraries in the migration to Evergreen, an enterprise-class, open source ILS. In some instances, the migration process included re-barcoding an entire library collection using ITGs Scan & Print System, which can re-label more than 250 books per hour.
The Carroll County Public Library in Maryland and the Chino Hills Branch Library in California are among the first libraries to install the Apex DiscXpressII, which connects with self-checkout systems to deliver DVDs and CDs from a secure storage unit. Library patrons will be able to use self-checkout kiosks to check out all library materials, including DVDs and CDs, during a single transaction. The DiscXpressII features freestanding towers, which hold up to 500 discs each. The sleek, compact unit includes a cabinet that allows staff easy access to the carousels where disks are securely stored. Simple onscreen instructions guide patrons through the self-checkout process.
Apex XpressCheck Medallion Edition
The Yakima Valley Regional Library in Washington is among the first to install the newly designed Apex XpressCheck Medallion Edition self-checkout kiosk, which features a sleek contemporary look and uses an easier, faster interface to further enhance the patron experience. ITGs partnership with NCR Corporation provides libraries with the opportunity to utilize a double-sided receipt printer that cuts paper usage by 45 percent. ITG joined with NCR Corporation to develop and launch the Apex XpressCheck Medallion Edition, which includes enhanced Apex XpressCheck library self-checkout software running on ultra-compact and reliable NCR EasyPoint Advantage kiosk hardware. Initial plans call for more than 200 kiosks of this type to be deployed in North America throughout 2009. Future plans also include deployments in Latin America.
