Abstract: Softlink, an international provider of integrated library management software solutions has announced the return of company founder and former CEO, John Dunne, in the role of Chief Information Officer.

Brisbane, Australia, Thursday June 28 2007 Softlink, an international provider of integrated library management software solutions has announced the return of company founder and former CEO, John Dunne, in the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Effective immediately, in his new role Dunne will manage infrastructure and product development across Softlink’s US, UK and Asia Pacific operations, with particular focus upon Softlink’s new software-as-a-service and SQL based solutions for the international library market.

Upon founding Softlink in 1983, Dunne developed the company’s first library management system (LMS) ALARM and subsequently grew Softlink’s global presence and customer base across 108 nations before leaving Softlink at the end of 2000.

With over 25 years’ software industry experience including 17 years as Softlink’s CEO, Dunne’s return brings a new strength to Softlink, its product range and customers.

"I had to originally leave Softlink due to illness and have worked hard since to get back to full health. I am delighted now to be able to once again follow my passions and hope this sets an example for others who suffer similar setbacks."

"I look forward to focusing the talents at Softlink to ensure our latest solutions further empower the success of libraries across the globe in our many sectors including Schools, Corporate, Academic and Public libraries", he said.

During his absence from Softlink, Dunne has remained active in the software industry consulting on SQL based business intelligence products.

John’s brother Bob Dunne who replaced John as CEO in 2000 is delighted to have John back.

"I am really pleased to see John returning to the business; his unsurpassed knowledge of Softlink, its products, the library market and the software industry is a huge asset. This is an exciting time for Softlink, as we roll out the next generation of Softlink solutions across the globe," said Bob.
