September 16, 2008 Emeryville, CA. The James G. Gee Library at Texas A&M University-Commerce has selected the Millennium ILS for its powerful features and simple operations model in a small academic-library environment. The Library will migrate from a SirsiDynix Unicorn system that was installed in 2002.
Staff at Gee Library wanted to make certain that their library technology backbone would be the right fit for their library. "A formal survey we conducted found that libraries of our size and type were quite satisfied with Millennium," says Systems Librarian and Webmaster Marsha Keenan. "For a small staff in systems and technology, such as ours, you need full library functionality without a programming team to keep it going and move it forward. You also need features like robust reporting without specialized training, eight-inch-thick instructions, or constant patches and updates."
Keenan continues: "From what we saw of the presentation by Innovative, and at regional libraries, Millennium is ready to go and is backed by a company of librarians that know what the product needs, as well as US-based, private leadership that can succeed with caring, focused software development."
