(Carlsbad, CA – March 17, 2008) Leading library services and knowledge management company EOS International announced the recent installation of the EOS e-Library solution at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, a former SydneyPLUS client.
The installation of the EOS e-Library solution at Longwood Gardens enables the non-profit public garden organization wide-scale access to library information for both local patrons and those located outside of the immediate vicinity of Longwood. "We wanted an easy-to-use browser-based catalog that both library staff and patrons could access from anywhere," said Venice Bayrd, Librarian at Longwood Gardens.
"Implementing EOS.Web has given us the opportunity to remind our patrons what resources are available to them, and to give them better tools to make use of existing resources."
The final installation of EOS e-Library included the premium KnowledgeBuilder module that allows Longwood to fully customize non-traditional archival entries into their larger library solution.
About Longwood Gardens
Longwood Gardens is dedicated to preserving the spirit and beauty of the early 20th century gardens of Pierre S. du Pont. In 1906, Pierre S. du Pont purchased the Peirce Arboretum to save its trees from being cut for lumber. Over the next nearly half century, Mr. du Pont developed Longwood Gardens into what it is today, a magnificent horticultural showplace. Longwood is a display garden promoting the art and enjoyment of horticulture for the public, while providing opportunities for research and learning.
