Abstract: The Library Corporation has appointed technology professional Paul Leppert as Vice President and Managing Director of TLC's Denver Operations. Leppert succeeds Patricia "Trish" Culkin, who recently announced her retirement.

INWOOD, WV, November 8, 2007- The Library Corporation (TLC) has appointed technology professional Paul Leppert as Vice President and Managing Director of TLC's Denver Operations.

Mr. Leppert succeeds Patricia "Trish" Culkin, who recently announced her retirement.

Prior to this new position, Mr. Leppert served as Executive Project Manager of the implementation of TLC's ILS, CARL.X, at Chicago Public Library, a project valued at over $13.8 million. Before overseeing the Chicago Public Library project, Mr. Leppert was the Director of Technology Operations at Deloitte & Touche Tax Technologies where he implemented a hosted tax software solution for his customers. Mr. Leppert has also served as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting and Technology Solutions Company (TSC) in Chicago where he led many software development, software implementation, and technology strategy projects.

"I am very pleased to take on this new opportunity with TLC," Mr. Leppert said. "I look forward to working with our customers to continue the development, support, and services that made TLC what it is today, and building on our capabilities to become even better in the future."

Leppert's predecessor, Trish Culkin, co-developed the CARL System and served as the Associate Director of the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, as well as Director of Research and Development for the CARL Corporation. She was one of the two individuals who created, supported, and expanded the system that is now CARL.X over 25 years ago.

"CARL found a great home in the family of TLC properties when it was acquired by TLC in 2000, and Paul Leppert will do a tremendous job in continuing service to current and new CARL customers," Ms. Culkin said.

"I am grateful to TLC to have had the opportunity to run CARL operations since 2000," Ms. Culkin said. "I've enjoyed working with the CARL libraries as they have often required software and services that have been harbingers for what's needed by others in later years. This in itself is innately rewarding, and I will miss working with some of these great library leaders and the very loyal CARL staff. "

Annette Murphy, TLC CEO, also commented, "I am pleased to announce Paul Leppert's appointment as TLC's new VP and Manager of Denver Operations.

I look forward to working with Paul and the Denver Staff to continue to deliver unique Carl products and services to our Carl Libraries. At the same time, I celebrate and appreciate Trish's many achievementsin her career and wish her the best in future endeavors."
