Library software review [Summer 1996]

Abstract: You can scan images and touch them up or create your own in Adobe Photoshop 3.0 for Windows or Adobe Photoshop 3.0 for the Mac. Then simply store the images as files on the server with your Web page and reference them using HTML tags. (See Library Software Review Volume 14, No. 4 Winter 1995, p. 222). This article will briefly introduce scanning techniques and then present features in Adobe Photoshop that you can use to spruce up images, create button bars, or format maps to add Web pages. Also discussed is a shareware program, known as Mapedit, which will allow you to insert your map and create the coordinates for you. If you download and keep the shareware program, you will be asked to contribute $25 to the creator.
