Hradec Králové, Czech Republic -- June 14, 2007. Ex Libris Group is pleased to announce that the library of the University of Hradec Králové, in the Czech Republic, has implemented the Company's SFX link resolver and MetaLib metasearching solutions.

Traditionally a cultural and academic centre of the East Bohemian region, since 1997, great efforts have been made to modernize the Hradec Králové library with cutting-edge technical equipment and technologies," explains Magister Zdenka Ježková, director of the university library. "Recent years have seen a significant expansion in library stock, especially in the area of electronic information resources, which are often essential for the work of students and teachers. Thus, we were faced with the task of facilitating our users' work by enabling access to library holdings at all times--even when the library is closed.

After carefully considering various solutions, we decided on a comprehensive, user-friendly solution that will meet the needs of our users not only in the present but also in the future."

"We see the University of Hradec Králové library's choice of the MetaLib and SFX systems as a double success," notes Pavel Krbec, representative of the Ex Libris distributorship for the Czech Republic. "This excellent example of a Metalib/SFX solution for a medium-sized library is running seamlessly with a-non Ex Libris intergrated library system."
