Abstract: Innovative Interfaces announced that Electronic Resource Management has been purchased by Furman University, which becomes the 200th institution to choose the market-leading product.

Emeryville, CA—Innovative Interfaces announced today that Electronic Resource Management has been purchased by Furman University, which becomes the 200th institution to choose the market-leading product. Now approaching its fourth release, the Innovative ERM has proven its ability to provide the tools libraries need to collect and manage the licensing, statistical, and administrative details of their e-resources. Libraries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America have taken advantage of the Innovative ERM as a stand-alone solution or as an integrated component of the Millennium integrated library technology platform.

Furman chose Innovative's solution in order to boost staff efficiency and provide high-quality access to a growing segment of their content offerings. "With serials and electronic resources comprising a majority of our materials budget it makes sense for us to invest in tools and technologies that will maximize our efficiencies in these areas," says Systems Librarian Scott Salzman. "Our selection of the Innovative ERM will allow us to manage and share information with our patrons, and among library faculty and staff, in an integrated environment. We value our partnership with Innovative in addressing the challenges of meeting the needs of our patrons in a complex information landscape."

"Innovative is proud that Electronic Resource Management is well ahead of the field in terms of popularity and functionality," says Innovative Senior Product Manager Ted Fons. "I attribute this to the very early work by our development partners in 2003 to envision a solution that would be of service to libraries confronting a major challenge of the contemporary library. By continuing development release after release, we can offer a product that significantly boosts the ability for libraries to be effective both internally and as channels for the delivery of e-resources."

Release 2007 of Electronic Resource Management will be made available mid-year.
