Abstract: EOS International announces that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) library has selected EOS.Web Enterprise.

Carlsbad, CA - August 15, 2006) Market leader EOS International announces that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) library has selected EOS.Web Enterprise.

The FAA library serves the international aviation community and supports the FAA mission of providing the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world. The 15,000 FAA item collection primarily consists of print reports and technical documents, however they are moving towards more and more digital content. Robert Mast, Computer Specialist at the FAA library, chose to move to EOS.Web Enterprise because, "the Web interface allows me to work from any machine. I get to be less dependent on the local network."

When choosing their new system Mast was looking for a Web-based system with, "ease of use, speed and a clean look and feel." The highly customizable, intuitive EOS.Web solution enables Mast to provide better service to his end users.

By connecting his EOS.Web reports to an RSS feed Mast is able to push newly published items to his customers. When his users click on a title in their RSS reader they are pointed directly to a search results page in the FAA EOS.Web OPAC. FAA EOS.Web OPAC users then transparently access the 856 field and link directly to the newly published information, which are often PDF documents. This customization allows Mast to automatically update his users, rather than notifying them after the fact, thus keeping the FAA up-to-date on critical new information.
