Abstract: Librarians and faculty who want to move to a level beyond PowerPoint to enhance their courseware, training, and presentation packages with a full range of graphics, animation, sound, and video should take a serious look at multimedia authoring software, particularly if Internet/Web delivery of applications is an essential requirement. However, be forewarned, a considerable amount of time and talent is required to create a multimedia production. Of the two products reviewed, ToolBook II is probably a better fit in an academic setting because it is targeted specifically at courseware developments, where Click & Create is more of a multipurpose tool.
