Emeryville, CA—Innovative announced today that Bibliothèque Méjanes, the public library at the heart of Aix-en-Provence, France's "City of the Book", has selected Millennium to integrate access to their collections and position them to align with the city's network of museums and special libraries. Bibliothèque Méjanes holds over a quarter of a million items including print, electronic, and multimedia resources along with rare manuscripts. The Millennium installation will integrate the catalogs of all the Library's sites, providing unified access for patrons and a smooth workflow for staff.

"Millennium was the right choice for our large and diverse information environment," says Library Director Gilles Eboli. "We were impressed by the success of Innovative with other French public libraries such as those in Rennes and Angers. This is especially important because we will be migrating over a million records into the fully integrated bibliographic database that Millennium offers."

The Library is located in close proximity to the City of the Book's special libraries and museums that cover all aspects of cultural and artistic life, such as the Saint-John Perse Foundation, the Albert Camus Resource Center, and the Institute of Image and Cinema. "Millennium will best position Bibliothèque Méjanes in the environment of the City of The Book," says Eboli. "We found that the Millennium platform had the most possibilities for long-term evolution and integration with other libraries and museums. This will be critical in the next few years when the Library will become the network center of our community organizations."
