DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, January 10, 2006: Endeavor Information Systems, (www.endinfosys.com) the leading provider of library management software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoffrey Adams as its Director of Archive Solutions. In this newly created position, Adams will provide leadership and strategic direction for the company's current and future archival and repository management systems designed specifically to meet the needs of national, research and academic libraries.
A 14-year veteran of the library software industry, Adams previously held the position of Director of IT Solutions for Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and services and the parent company of Endeavor. During his many years with Elsevier, Adams established positive relationships with national libraries and academic institutions around the world, working to foster a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities that information technology provides, particularly in the field of digital archiving. He also led Elsevier's Strategic Partners Program and played key roles in various company research and e-learning initiatives.
"Endeavor is very fortunate to have someone with Geoffrey's experience and abilities to lead our digital archiving efforts," said Roland Dietz, President and CEO at Endeavor. "Geoffrey is well known and respected in the industry, and we are very excited to have access to his considerable expertise as we move forward with the development of the next generation of archives and repository products. Geoffrey will also be guiding product management for our ENCompass for Journals OnSite program, Endeavor's enterprise-level system for locally storing and providing access to electronic journal content from any publisher in one location."
"I am extremely pleased to become a part of the Endeavor digital archiving team," said Adams. "My experiences at Elsevier have given me a thorough understanding of the capabilities and functionalities customers need to safeguard their electronic collections. Endeavor enjoys a strong position of leadership in the library software industry, thanks to its decade-long record of creating such powerful and sophisticated programs as the Voyager ILS and Meridian, its new and quickly growing ERM solution. It will be my goal and my honor to continue this leadership heritage into the archival and repository management space."
