HUNTSVILLE, Ala.—August 10, 2005 - SirsiDynix announced today that a very large and prestigious consortium of libraries in Catalonia, Spain, has selected Corinthian to replace their existing library automation systems. The consortium comprises eight university libraries, two public library networks and the National Library of Catalonia. The consortium conducted an extensive and thorough evaluation of the systems available worldwide, commencing with strategic reviews over two years ago, and concluding with an unusually challenging selection and procurement process. Corinthian was selected as the most suitable system to meet the needs of the libraries, with Dynix being seen as a reliable long-term partner for the future.

Jack Blount, SirsiDynix board member, said, "We are delighted to have been selected for such an important project; the largest library automation project in Europe at this time. We are looking forward to a long partnership with all the libraries in the consortium to ensure that Corinthian not only meets their needs now, but also for many years in the future."

Lluís Anglada, Director of the Consortium of Academic Libraries of Catalonia (CBUC), which managed the selection process on behalf of the consortium, said, "In the last 10 years we have been improving our library services through co operation. Now, with a new automated library system, we want to organise all the Catalan libraries in a regional network in order to put all the library resources of the country at the user's hands. More than 70 people from different specialities in the library field participated in the selection process and we are sure that we made the best selection for our needs."

The project will be implemented in several phases during 2005 and 2006, starting in September 2005.
