Auto-Graphics completes ISO ILL interoperability testing with RLG

Abstract: Auto-Graphics announced that the company has successfully completed interoperability testing of its AGent product to send Interlibrary Loan requests using both TCP/IP direct connect and SMTP mechanisms to RLG’s ILL Manager via the ISO 10160/10161 protocols. This standard enables libraries with different systems to exchange information in a consistent manner.


POMONA, CA. — June 23, 2005—Auto-Graphics, Inc. (AUGR.PK) is pleased to announce that the company has successfully completed interoperability testing of its AGent product to send Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests using both TCP/IP direct connect and SMTP (e-mail) mechanisms to RLG's ILL Manager via the ISO 10160/10161 protocols. This standard enables libraries with different systems to exchange information in a consistent manner.

RLG has posted Auto-Graphics' AGent product on its website, as “fully tested.” Once communication is initiated between two “live” or production-based customer systems, AGent's status will change on RLG's website to “fully tested and in production.”

Auto-Graphics'AGent Resource Sharing Module has been available to A-G's customers since 2002, is fully ISO ILL capable, and supports the Interlibrary Loan Protocol Implementors Group (IPIG) profile, enabling users to interface with numerous third party ILL systems. AGent Resource Sharing also supports AVISO generic script messaging, as well as e-mail ILL (for partners without ISO ILL capability).

Modular by design, AGent makes one's technology investment work by providing the right level of infrastructure based on the client's current system architecture and future needs. Offered as a hosted service or perpetual license, other available AGent modules include LibraryCard (online patron recruitment), Portal, MARCit (cataloging), Digital Collections, and VERSO (ILS).
