(Carlsbad, CA – March 9, 2005) Market leader EOS International announces that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, has chosen to upgrade from EOS GLAS® to EOS.Web Express, and to have their information access solution hosted at the EOS Global Data Center located in Carlsbad, California via the EOS e-Library Service.

In addition to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital electing to upgrade from EOS GLAS, Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, Reno, NV; Royal Adelaide Hospital RAH/IMVS Library, Adelaide, Australia; St Mary's Hospital, Grand Junction, CO; Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles, CA; Cleveland Chiropractic College, Kansas, MO; Harris Methodist Hospital, Ft. Worth, TX; Mercy General Health Partners, Muskegon, MI; and Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN, have all recognized the value EOS solutions bring to Health Sciences libraries.

“When our designated IT support was reassigned to another part of the institution, we decided to look into having EOS International ASP-host our library automation solution,” states Jan Orick, Library Director for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. “We are looking forward to having our updates handled for us and to experiencing the ease of use associated with using a fully Web-based, integrated cataloging and serials solution. We are also hoping that the very user-friendly EOS.Web OPAC will provide the Doctors and researchers easier access to our resources.”

Research efforts at St. Jude are directed at understanding the molecular, genetic and chemical bases of catastrophic diseases in children, identifying cures for such diseases and promoting their prevention. Research is focused specifically on cancers, acquired and inherited immunodeficiencies and genetic disorders. The current basic and clinical research at St. Jude includes work in gene therapy, bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, the biochemistry of normal and cancerous cells, radiation treatment, blood diseases, resistance to therapy, viruses, hereditary diseases, influenza, pediatric AIDS and the psychological effects of catastrophic diseases. St. Jude also conducts long-term biostatistical investigations on its patients and is the only pediatric research hospital that has been awarded a National Cancer Institute cancer center support grant.
