Abstract: Dynix announced that Dynix GmbH and Bibliotheca RFID Library Systems AG, Switzerland, have entered an agreement to supply Bibliotheca RFID systems in Poland.

AHRENSBURG, Germany -- February 2, 2004 -- Dynix, the world's leading provider of automation technologies, solutions and services for libraries, today announced that Dynix GmbH and Bibliotheca RFID Library Systems AG, Switzerland, have entered an agreement to supply Bibliotheca RFID systems in Poland. Sales and support for the region began on January 1, 2005, overseen by Dynix partner Marcin Majorkowski of INFORMA Uslugi Informatyczne, Poznan. The agreement stems from a previously announced partnership between Dynix and Bibliotheca.

INFORMA has worked with Dynix GmbH for several years already, providing effective sales and support to Polish libraries for Dynix library management systems. As a native Polish speaker, Majorkowski is well-poised to provide information and support to libraries in Poland regarding Bibliotheca RFID technology.

"The partnership will supply our customers with an attractive and cost-effective solution in a forward-looking technology, to automate staff workflows and improve media security. The BiblioChip? RFID System is easy to use for both staff and patrons," said Jacques Nauer, Chief Executive Officer for Bibliotheca.

"Dynix, INFORMA, and Bibliotheca will work together to cultivate joint customer opportunities, while providing leadership in the development and adoption of RFID technology within the Polish library community," said Dynix Regional Director for Central Europe Gunter Jacobs.

About RFID

RFID is a technology that incorporates the use of radio waves to uniquely identify an object, animal or person. RFID is seeing increased use in industry and in the library community as an alternative to barcodes and electro-magnetic security strips. The advantage of RFID is that it does not require direct contact or line-of-sight scanning; several objects can be identified at the same time and information uploaded on each object.
