DES PLAINES, IL - Jan. 14, 2005: Endeavor Information Systems announced today a special price for the Meridian system for efficient, effective management of all types of electronic resources. Through June 30, 2005, Endeavor Meridian will be available at a discount for current and new Endeavor customers. Providing vital e-resource information to the library's users while alleviating the headaches of the back-office administration of these materials, Meridian became available for purchase Jan. 1, 2005. To date, two libraries have contracted with Endeavor for Meridian.
First announced in June 2004, Meridian is available to libraries using Endeavor's Voyager integrated library system as well as libraries using other vendors' ILS products. Development of Meridian is on track for a June 2005 general release. Contact email@example.com to learn more about Meridian in your library.
Two recent announcements illustrate Endeavor's commitment to design Meridian as the most beneficial solution for electronic resource management. As part of Endeavor's just announced usability initiative, the company noted Meridian was developed from a user-centered design perspective, bringing a human-computer interaction understanding to the complexity of electronic resource management. In addition, Endeavor this month announced a partnership with Cognos, a world leader in information management, to combine the sophisticated, fully integrated reporting capabilities of Cognos ReportNet with Meridian. The functionality offered by ReportNet will enable libraries to quickly and easily create, execute, and distribute reports about e-resource activity and usage.
“Meridian reduces staff effort in managing, delivering and analyzing e-resources, while improving service to patrons,” said Kathryn Harnish, Endeavor Meridian Product Manager. “Offering Meridian at a special introductory discount will ensure libraries can easily obtain this effective solution for electronic resource information management.”
