HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — November 22, 2004 — Sirsi Corporation announced today that the Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has selected Sirsi solutions to improve workflow efficiency library for staff and to expand services for library users. "Our staff is very excited about the new Sirsi technologies, as they are new tools that empower our users to find information resources," said Sylvia Sprinkle-Hamlin, FCPL director. "We have also been very impressed with Sirsi's training staff and the other Sirsi personnel we have encountered. We feel that Sirsi stands by us and will be with us as we seek to define what 21st-century librarianship is going to mean for our institution and the people of Forsyth County."
FCPL's suite of Sirsi products and services includes the Unicorn® Library Management System; iBistro e-Library with DataStream enriched content in English and Spanish; Sirsi Voice Automation; WorkFlows® staff interface; and Sirsi SingleSearch for federated searching. "The Sirsi technology is user-friendly, flexible, and allows for multi-tasking, which enables our staff to accomplish important goals," said Sprinkle-Hamlin. These new tools will enable us continue providing excellent customer service and to begin delivering even better materials and information."
FCPL will unveil the new Sirsi system and two new information databases for their customers in December 2004.
