Emeryville, CA—Innovative Interfaces, the world's leading provider of Web-powered, Java™-based library management systems, announced today that ESADE (Escuela Superior De Administración Y Dirección De Empresas) in Barcelona, Spain, has selected Millennium and Millennium Access Plus for its library automation needs.
ESADE's entire library staff conducted a detailed, comparative study of library automation systems before selecting Millennium. Major considerations were the impact on services to users, management of information such as multimedia and digital objects, and library operations. "With these factors in mind, Millennium became the clear choice," said Library Director María José Marimón. "We will also be implementing Millennium Access Plus for online patron authentication, metasearching, and contextual linking in the staff modules and the Web OPAC." The library will serve students and faculty with a Web OPAC that displays three languages: Catalan, English, and Spanish.
ESADE offers advanced degrees in business, law, and hospitality management. Often ranked first among Spain's business schools, the Wall Street Journal ranks ESADE as one of the top three business schools in the world. The library has a strong collection in business and legal information, as well as a European documentation center.
"We're very pleased that such a prestigious business school has selected Innovative," Says Maryvonne Enjolras, Innovative's Director of Sales, Southern Europe. "This library will be a showcase site, particularly within the network of 100 leading business schools to which ESADE belongs."
Founded in 1958, ESADE serves more than 6,000 students with campuses in Barcelona and Madrid. The University offers education to a large population of international students and offers programs such as executive education, as well as advanced degrees and PhDs in management and business administration. ESADE also offers a wide range of specialized programs that meet the needs of a diverse student body and collaborates with an active consortium of international business schools on five continents.
