INWOOD, WV—August 26, 2004 – Monroe County Library System (MCLS) in New York has renewed its contract for TLC's ILS, CARL.Solution.
MCLS renewed the contract for five years and added a Hewlett Packard NonStop Enterprise Server upgrade. The consortium has been a CARL system user since 1993.
MCLS also purchased the new CARL.Decision reporting tool, the YouSeeMore™ portal, premium OPAC content enrichment, and upgraded Phone Notice Circulation capabilities. MCLS will also use PC Reservation and LPT:One Print Management solutions powered by TLC's partner, EnvisionWare.
In addition to the upgraded interface and feature enhancements in the library's OPAC, users will enjoy a new level of speed in their interactions with the system. MCLS is the first TLC customer to upgrade their telecommunications network with fiber optic gigabyte Ethernet connectivity.
"We're very excited about both the CARL.Solution hardware and software upgrades,” MCLS Director Carol Nersinger commented. “We're looking forward to improved searching speed in the OPAC and to YouSeeMore's personalized OPAC accounts for patrons. The new book jacket images and other enhanced content will also be very attractive. In addition, the staff is really looking forward to the PC management programs.”
The consortium will introduce the new products to patrons in March. In addition, as a CARL.Solution customer, MCLS will inherit new functionality developed in TLC's newest ILS, CARL.X.
