HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-August 16, 2004-Sirsi Corporation, celebrating 25 years of delivering technology "firsts" to the library community, announced today that the Green Hills Public Library District of Palos Hills, Ill., is dropping its Dynix system in favor of a full suite of Sirsi solutions. "We are very excited about the move to Sirsi," said Annette Armstrong, Green Hills' director. "From an administration standpoint, we find circulation to be more flexible, the reporting module is far superior, and our data in the Sirsi system can be manipulated more easily - enabling our staff to better serve our end-users."
Green Hills' suite of Sirsi products and services includes the Unicorn Library Management System with the WorkFlows® staff client interface; iBistro e-Library Solution with DataStream enriched content; and the Sirsi SingleSearch federated search tool. "We are especially excited about the children's interface of iBistro, which we believe families will appreciate. iBistro is very innovative and exciting to use, and we believe our patrons will be delighted with the new system. It's more efficient and user-friendly for both staff and patrons," said Armstrong. "Especially having Sirsi SingleSearch integrated with iBistro is an excellent extension of our resource-sharing abilities. It enables an end-user to conduct one search across all of the library's available materials. As a result, resources available in our library's catalog, in the library's subscription databases, and from the best of the Internet are more accessible and usable."
