Abstract: Endeavor Information Systems announced the selection of the Voyager integrated library management system at three academic libraries: Pulaski Technical College, California Lutheran University, and Saint Peterís College.

DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, July 13, 2004: Endeavor Information Systems announced today the selection of the Voyager integrated library management system at three academic libraries.

Voyager will provide the libraries with an improved web-based user interface, workflow oriented staff interfaces and superior reporting capabilities to meet the changing needs of today's library. With nearly 1,300 customers around the world, the Voyager ILS is continually chosen as the most robust and fully functional library management system designed for the specific needs of academic and special research libraries. Additionally, Endeavor provides a proven track record of on-time and under-budget implementations and proactive customer support to libraries that select Voyager.

ďToday's academic libraries need an ILS capable of handling the growth in information demands and flexible enough to accommodate the new methodologies that will reach the next generation of library users,Ē said Roland Dietz, Endeavor President and CEO. ďFor academic libraries of all sizes, Voyager is a comprehensive solution to provide user-focused services with opportunities for staff workflows that match the requirements of academic librarians. Additionally, Voyager is well poised to grow with libraries as the number of students, the amount of resources and the decreases in budgets require smarter solutions for library automation.Ē

Libraries recently choosing the Voyager system include:

  • Pulaski Technical College, North Little Rock, AR is implementing Voyager to replace the Dynix Classic system. The Library of the comprehensive two-year college currently manages nearly 11,000 volumes, with a progressive growth plan over the next five years to increase in materials and services as the college enrollment is projected to double in size in that time. Today the Library provides services to 6,700 faculty and student users pursuing technical programs, the university-transfer program or the College's specialized programs for business and industry. The Library supports the College locations in several counties in the central Arkansas area, five off-campus sites and the newest campus to open in Little Rock in Fall 2004.
  • California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA selected Voyager to replace the DRA Classic system. At the Pearson Library, Voyager will manage 130,000 volumes to support 3,200 faculty and students users in 36 undergraduate programs in addition to graduate and continuing education pursuits. The Pearson Library also selected the Voyager Interlibrary Loan module for integrated management of borrowing and lending.
  • Saint Peter's College, the Jesuit College of New Jersey, Jersey City, NJ will replace the Dynix Classic system with Voyager. The O'Toole Library manages 275,000 volumes to support nearly 3,400 faculty and student users. Over 2,100 items in the O'Toole Library special collections support research in religion, local and world history, literature, art, science and technology. The special collections include materials dating as far back as the 15th century.
