Bibliotekenes IT-senter AS (BIBITS), the exclusive distributor of Ex Libris products in Norway, is pleased to announce that the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy (RNoNA) in Bergen has chosen MetaLib® and SFX® as its library portal product. RnoNA is the first MetaLib and SFX customer in Norway.
Thomas Brevik, chief librarian of RNoNA, commented: “We chose MetaLib and SFX for several reasons, but the most important factors were a well developed system and a Norwegian user interface. Our dialog with BIBITS throughout the process has been excellent, and we feel certain that implementation and support will benefit from the same level of communication.”
“Making best use of the MetaLib capability to present all the library's electronic resources to end users is the main goal of our implementation. We have great expectations that the MetaLib functionality will facilitate access to our electronic resources and increase their use. Our end users will no longer have to cope with different interfaces and search syntaxes. When teaching end users, we will now be able to focus on content, not technique.”
