Minneapolis, MN –March 29, 2004 – Sagebrush Corporation today announced it has been selected by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to centralize its entire school library system. With 750 schools serving 750,000 students, the LAUSD is the second largest K-12 school district in the U.S.

“LAUSD's decision to centralize the library and information resources of the entire district demonstrates their commitment to improving the quality of education for every student. Centralization of the district library system will leverage their significant investment in information resources, including library collections and subscription databases." said Jim Zicarelli, Sagebrush CEO, “As a leader in the K-12 market, Sagebrush is committed to supporting educator's efforts to improve student achievement through easy, timely access to information resources of all types. We are excited to extend and significantly expand our long-standing partnership with LAUSD.”

Sagebrush and LAUSD will begin implementation of the web-based CLAS (Centralized Library Automation System) project in Spring 2004. The comprehensive LAUSD system will use the Sagebrush Accent library management system as its foundation, and also incorporates the Sagebrush Pinpoint smart research tool allowing students to search multiple information resources and refine the results to achieve more relevant results. To maximize utilization and efficiency of the entire system, Sagebrush will provide comprehensive online training for all components of the system.

In addition to centralizing all LAUSD libraries, Sagebrush, with its partner Oracle Corporation, will integrate the library system with the district's Oracle financial, student management and human resources systems. The integration will significantly streamline data entry throughout the district and ensure consistent, accurate information across all of the district's major information systems.
