MetaLib and SFX for Beijing Normal University

Abstract: Ex Libris announced that Beijing Normal University has selected the MetaLib information portal with the SFX context-sensitive linking server to provide management tools and services for its ever-increasing electronic resources. Four years ago, Beijing Normal University became the first Ex Libris ALEPH 500 customer in both China and Asia.

Four years ago, Beijing Normal University became the first Ex Libris ALEPH 500 customer in both China and Asia.

"My colleagues have watched the evolution of MetaLib/SFX technologies for a long time and witnessed the rapid expansion of the worldwide MetaLib/SFX customer base. We think it is time to introduce these tools to promote our patron services to a higher level," said Professor Jiang Lu, assistant president of Beijing Normal University and director of the university library. "We have already had successful cooperation on the ALEPH 500 project and look forward to an even more fruitful partnership on MetaLib/SFX project."

Beijing Normal University (BNU) was the earliest established teacher-training university in China, which grew out of the Faculty of Education of Metropolitan University, founded in 1902. After a century of development, BNU has become an important educational and research base for diverse disciplines and advanced scientific studies.
