POMONA, CA. — May 10, 2004— Auto-Graphics, Inc. (OTCBB: AUGR) proudly announces the official launch of the JerseyClicks Portal, which took place during the New Jersey Library Association (NJLA) Conference, held April 19-21st, 2004. With JerseyClicks (www.jerseyclicks.org), NJLA member library staff and patrons can now simultaneously search multiple databases via a single search interface and single log in, accessing a variety of other information sources like QandANJ.org, JerseyCAT, online encyclopedias & newspapers, subscription magazines, and more.
JerseyClicks, New Jersey's One Stop Library Gateway to Quality Information program, will help fulfill the state's strategic vision of providing 24/7access to quality information to all NJ residents. Furthermore, with this program, participating libraries now have the ability to upgrade JerseyClicks to create their own customized library portal and can add a variety of other library service offerings via the portal, such as customizing their home page and generating statistical reports to help track their resource usage.
In preparation for the launch of JerseyClicks, volunteer libraries in the INFOLINK Eastern New Jersey Regional Library Cooperative formed a Pilot Group that provided invaluable feedback to help Auto-Graphics improve and perfect its services and product offerings before releasing the Portal statewide. The Pilot Group, which ran for approximately one month, found the JerseyClicks Portal to be an excellent tool for both reference and research and discovered that searching more than one database at a time enables information to be retrieved much quicker than trying to decide which of many sources to use. The Group agreed that JerseyClicks would be very useful and beneficial to both customers unfamiliar with database content and selecting appropriate databases, as well as the experienced searcher.
JerseyClicks is powered by Auto-Graphics' AGent Portal module that allows users to simultaneously search a wide variety of disparate databases such as full-text repositories, the Web, local bibliographic catalogs, and private resources through a single search interface. Search results are viewed in their native screen formats to ensure copyright compliance and full access to the database content. Other AGent modules include Authentication, Resource-Sharing, Cataloging, Statistics, and Library Automation.
Carol Nersinger, Director of the Library Development Bureau at the New Jersey State Library (NJSL) remarked, “JerseyClicks offers New Jersey residents the ability to access quality library resources through a user-friendly interface, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year."
“With the statewide release of JerseyClicks, New Jersey is now one of the first states to offer its member libraries the ability to purchase economically priced, customized versions of the state-sponsored portal to meet their local electronic resource management and authentication needs,” commented Albert Flores, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Auto-Graphics.
The New Jersey State Library has offered the highest quality service to its residents for over 200 years. The Library, affiliated with Thomas Edison State College, is aimed at assisting not only the residents, but also the 312 libraries in the state.
