Five hospitals have chosen Softlink Liberty3, an entirely web-based library management system this month alone (April). Library automation specialist, Softlink Europe Ltd, will install Liberty3 at the Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital (Liverpool), Cardiothoracic Centre (Liverpool), Liverpool Women's Hospital and Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The new clients join existing Liberty3 healthcare clients: Bloomsbury Healthcare, Breast Cancer Care, the Dyslexia Institute and the National Disease Surveillance Centre.
Alasdair Darroch, Managing Director of Softlink Europe commented, "Technology is making a huge impact on healthcare provision today from online diagnostics to improved knowledge share amongst healthcare professionals. Library services are also benefiting from technology developments with tools such as Liberty3 bringing library management systems into the 21st century and allowing users quicker and easier access via full text searching from their desktops to relevant journals, websites, books and other resources whether for research, continuing professional development or everyday queries."
Liberty3 is fully customisable, allowing the system to be tailored to the particular needs of health organisations - whether this means altering the bibliographic fields or branding the service to fit the organisation's corporate image.
Librarians and information officers in over 30 European organisations and over 120 worldwide use Softlink Liberty3 in corporate, academic and special libraries.
