DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, Apr. 20, 2004: Endeavor Information Systems announced today that the Institut de l'Information Scientifique et Technique (INIST, the Institute for Scientific and Technical Information), Vandoeuvre-lés-Nancy, France, selected the ENCompass for Journals OnSite (EJOS) system for storing, searching and browsing local electronic journal content from multiple publishers. The first EJOS customer named since February's announcement of the new system, INIST was previously a customer of ScienceServer system for local content management.
A division of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), INIST supports the collection, analysis and dissemination of the findings of international research. The Institute serves over 6,000 French national public research institutions, universities and private-sector research groups within prominent French corporations.
“With high demands for cutting-edge and archival e-journal content, INIST is a pivotal example of the kind of institution that can achieve rapid searching of e-content and excellent management of that content with ENCompass for Journals OnSite,” said Roland Dietz, Endeavor President and CEO. “Endeavor is very proud to work with INIST as our first EJOS user. As other institutions also recognize the benefits of EJOS, we look forward to the collaboration that will develop within our EJOS user community for increased user-focused access to electronic journal content.”
