Ex Libris today announced that Lawrence University has selected ALEPH 500™ as its next generation library management system, together with MetaLib® as its information portal and SFX® as its context-sensitive linking solution. The combination of ALEPH and MetaLib/SFX will be installed at the University's Seeley G. Mudd Library, where it will replace the University's existing DRA Classic system.
According to Susan Richards, University Librarian, “Our move to ALEPH and MetaLib/SFX will provide our students, faculty, and staff with the latest in library information technology to support their research efforts. In addition, ALEPH will enable the library staff to manage our growing print and digital collections in a most efficient way. We made a very considered decision in choosing Ex Libris to provide our library management system and believe it is the best product available.”
“We are excited at the prospect of having Lawrence University join the growing ranks of smaller colleges and universities which have opted for the ALEPH 500 solution,” commented Russell McDonald, Vice-President of Ex Libris, Inc. “Combined with MetaLib and SFX, we believe it to be the most powerful and patron-empowering information solution on the market today. Together with institutions such as DePauw University, Earlham College, and the California Academy of Sciences, Lawrence University is demonstrating to North American libraries that ALEPH's reach is indeed very broad.”
