Abstract: Endeavor Information Systems announced that the Library of the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, England, selected a suite of Endeavor’s systems.

DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, Mar. 9, 2004: Endeavor Information Systems announced today that the Library of the London School of Economics and Political Science (the world-renowned British Library of Political and Economic Science), London, England, selected a suite of Endeavor's systems to provide interoperability for users, accessibility for library materials and the basis for future library advancements.

For library automation services, LSE selected the Voyager integrated library management system and the Voyager integrated interlibrary loan module, plus the Voyager interface to selfcheck systems.

Complementing the Voyager system, LSE selected Endeavor's leading digital systems: the ENCompass for Resource Access system for providing instant access to e-resources and the LinkFinderPlus OpenURL-enabled link resolver for bridging the gap between citations and online full-text of articles. Endeavor's digital systems will help to manage and make available the library's 3,000 e-journal subscriptions.

The Library of the School is the largest in the world devoted exclusively to the social sciences. It serves more than one million visitors each year and holds over four million printed items.

Jean Sykes, Librarian and Director of Information Services at LSE said, "The Voyager system will help us manage our extensive and complex databases and cope with an ever increasing number of transactions. It will also help us maximize the sharing of data with other systems, very important in an era of increasing library cooperation. ENCompass and LinkFinderPlus will open up the world of resource discovery to our users, and bring enormous benefits to them in their learning and research. Endeavor greatly impressed us with their understanding of our requirements and with their willingness to propose flexible solutions. We very much look forward to working with Endeavor."

“By choosing the complete package—Voyager, ENCompass and LinkFinderPlus, LSE has demonstrated their interest in providing the maximum availability of resources to users through clear and accessible library-maintained technology,” said Roland Dietz, Endeavor President and CEO. “Endeavor strives to create systems to manage large amounts of information in ways that are accessible to users and useful to library staff. We are proud to work with LSE, a very prestigious and research-intensive institution, to deliver the library software tools to meet the needs of their users and library professionals.”
